Anticipated yesterday with the release of the poster and a countdown on YouTube, the teaser trailer for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow was released a few hours ago, and the enthusiasm of the fans was immediately evident.
In addition to showcasing Milly Alcock as the famous superheroine Kara Zor-El, the teaser trailer offers connections to James Gunn's Superman and introduces Jason Momoa as the bounty hunter "Lobo," though he is only visible for a few moments.
What we know about the Supergirl film
Distributed by Warner Bros Pictures, "Supergirl" - DC Studios' new movie - will be landing in cinemas across the globe this summer of 2026, starring the talented Milly Alcock in dual roles as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El. Director Craig Gillespie brings to the big screen a screenplay by Ana Nogueira, alongside a talented supporting cast that includes Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa, with Milly Alcock.
When a particularly nasty enemy lays its claws right on the doorstep of Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, she finds herself thrust into an unexpected and unlikely partnership - and the results are a cosmic adventure of vengeance and justice that fans of the character will surely not forget.
Built on the DC characters, DC Studios heads Peter Safran and James Gunn have brought Supergirl to life, drawing inspiration from Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's original conception of the characters. Nigel Gostelow, Chantal Nong Vo and Lars P. Winther are on board as executive producers - while behind the camera, we see the likes of director of photography Rob Hardy, production designer Neil Lamont, editor Tatiana S. Riegel and costume designer Anna B. Sheppard, as well as Geoffery Baumann and Ramin Djawadi joining director Craig Gillespie. DC Studios presents this one as a joint production from Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company, with Craig Gillespie at the helm of "Supergirl". Coming to cinemas July 25, 2026, the film is, of course, distributed by Warner Bros Pictures.
